Privacy Policy

At Rant 30 we like our privacy. We also like things that are easy to understand, which is why our Policy's and Terms are written in plain English instead of what ever language it is that Lawyers use.

That being said, if we get abused because of our kindness ... we'll just have to let loose the Law Dogs. You've been warned ...

1/ Cookies

We like cookies, they are delicious. But you can't eat digital cookies, so why have them?

We will not purposefully place any "cookies" on our website that a designed to track you and report back to us. We may, however, need to use some in order to offer services like our paid "Support Us" packages or article comments. We will keep these cookies to the absolute minimum that is needed in order for that specific functionality to work effectively and will not use the information gathered for any other purpose.

From time to time we may embed images, videos, music, bookmarks, share links, or any other media from a third party website (such as YouTube). If you interact with any of these elements that website may start to track you, this is out of our control and we do not receive, or benefit from, any information they collect.

2/ Analytics

We don't like being tracked either, don't worry your not being tracked here. It's not like your not a wild animal that we are hunting for food ... or are you?

Ghost Platform

The Ghost blogging platform is able to provide us with basic analytical data showing the interactions between you and our website. Whilst there are options for integrating external analytical tools we don't use them because we don't understand their privacy implications. At this time we only use the built in analytical tools in the Ghost Platform.

The type of data provided by the Ghost Analytical tools includes how many people have opened or read which articles or email newsletters, and how many people have pledged to support us and subscribe to our paid subscriptions. We do not get any personal data from you because of these analytics.

Stripe Payments

Stripe is our payment provider of choice and they provide us with some analytical data on our subscriptions. Please see the more information section for links to Stripe and their policies.

3/ What information do we collect

Yes, we do get some basic data from you if you agree to give it to us.

We Collect:

Your name
Your email address
Your Avatar Image (if you provide one)
Your payment information (if you subscribe, also see below)

Whilst the website asks for your payment information in order to process your support us subscription, that information is stored with Stripe, our third party payment partner and not by us, we don't see your payment information.

The avatar mentioned in the above list is automatically pulled from the gravitar service only if you have set up a gravitar account and you subscribe through our Support Us links with stripe.
